Operating Room Nursing Course

In collaboration with the HCA hospitals, the WELLS Center has developed an 80 hour course that has been designed to expand the orientation materials provided by PeriOp 101, which is an online OR orientation course developed and offered by the Association of Operating Room Nurses. The course is designed in 4 hour blocks that build on the basic orientation of the AORN content. Each content block is integrated with simulation, the VH Dissector, and other learning technology. All learning experiences are interactive and none of the content is presented in the traditional lecture/discussion format.

The initial offering of OR Nursing Course will be begin September 21, 2009, and continue every Tuesday from September 22, 2009 through November 24, 2009. For information about future offerings of the OR Nursing Course contact the WELLS Center, 303-326-0674 ext. 10.

WELLS Center OR Nursing Course Outline

Critical Care Nursing Course

In collaboration with the HCA hospitals, the WELLS Center has designed an 80 hour critical care course that supplements the AACN online ECCO course. A 10 week pilot was completed with two pilot groups in 2008.  The Critical Care Nursing Course was offered again in January 2009.

The course is designed in 4 hour blocks that follow the content outline of the ECCO course. Each content block is integrated with simulation, the VH Dissector, and other learning technology. All learning experiences are interactive and none of the content is presented in the traditional lecture/discussion format.
